Epic Games Store’s newest weekly free PC game is Caravan SandWitch. From now through the deadline below, players can add the complete base game to an Epic account for $0. This is not a demo, temporary free weekend, subscription benefit or DLC. Caravan SandWitch originally launched September 12, 2024; the new event that began Thursday, August 13 is Epic’s free-game promotion, not the game’s original release.
Caravan SandWitch
A gentle science-fiction road trip across a Provence-inspired world, built around exploration, community and the mystery of a missing sister.
Epic price during promotion: $0.00
Caravan SandWitch
Regular U.S. price: $24.99
Why it is worth claiming
Caravan SandWitch sends you across Cigalo, a sunlit science-fiction world inspired by Provence, after a message raises new questions about your missing sister. Your van is both transportation and progression tool: exploring the landscape, helping local communities and gathering upgrades opens routes to ruins and areas that were previously out of reach.
The tone is hopeful rather than grim. Instead of turning the post-apocalypse into a shooting gallery, the game emphasizes travel, environmental storytelling, conversations and helping a diverse cast. That makes it a useful change of pace for anyone tired of constant combat, punishing survival systems or countdown timers.
It is still a deliberately relaxed adventure, so players seeking difficult combat, elaborate character builds or a tightly packed action campaign may find it too quiet. At a $0 claim price, however, it is an easy recommendation for a future low-stress weekend.

Can your PC run it?
The published PC requirements are modest compared with many current releases. Both tiers list Windows 10/11, DirectX 11 and 5 GB of available storage.
Minimum
- Ryzen 3 3100 or Core i3-8100
- 8 GB RAM
- GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 570
- 5 GB storage
Recommended
- Ryzen 7 1700X or Core i5-8600K
- 16 GB RAM
- GeForce GTX 3050 (as listed) or Radeon RX 5600 XT
- 5 GB storage
Steam’s publisher-supplied listing also marks full controller support and lists English, French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese. Its NVIDIA requirement currently says “GTX 3050”; confirm the storefront before using that apparent naming inconsistency to guide a hardware purchase.
